Responsibilities include: Performs land stewardship activities, which includes the following: Conducts natural resource surveys for plants and animals; Maintains and improves structures (houses, barn, etc.); Helps identify and maintain trails for public access; Maintains equipment (tractor, chainsaw, chipper, etc.), vehicles and infrastructure (water systems install and repair, road maintenance, etc.); Promotes safety awareness among the public and staff; Provides oversight and works with contractors conducting land stewardship activities (grazing, forestry, road improvement/decommissioning); Conducts volunteer work days focused on removing non-native invasive plants, wildlife inventories and surveys, as well as restoration activities (revegetation, erosion control, etc.); Conducts guided hikes.
